Alphabeth-Baby

Many people ask themselves when they should first start educating their children, as if there was some kind of specific time at which point your kid is automatically ready to absorb knowledge. The truth is that there is a multitude of preschool learning activities in which you can educate your children, many of them being non-academic.

If your child is in pre-school and you would like to help him or her get ready for the big transition to school which will inevitably come soon, then here are a few tips on how to help them develop their basic skills.

Their Physical Shape

Helping your child stay in a good physical shape and pushing them towards exercises of agility on the playground will go a long way towards getting them into an “active person” routine, meaning that not only will they have less chances of facing obesity, but they will also be better-prepared for gym classes.

Music Sense

Developing your child’s musical sense can be very beneficial to not only help them succeed in music class, but also to help them concentrate as well as distinguish and identify sounds with better accuracy.

They will have a better ability to picking up a person’s voice tone, facilitating social interactions. In order to help them develop their music sense, you can listen to the recording of an orchestra and pretend to be playing the instruments that you are hearing.

Love for Science

At that age, it is useless to try and teach them equations and theorems; instead, it would be better to show them practical things which will build up their interest towards science, preventing you from having to hear complaints about how much biology and chemistry are boring. You can perform very basic experiments such as: magnets attracting to each other, assembling electrical circuits, and playing with water, turning it from a liquid to a solid, and vice-versa.

Making Mathematics Interesting

While many may not be willing to admit it, mathematics is an extremely important part of society; without it, a grand majority of the inventions humanity came up with wouldn’t be in existence… some may say they are the cornerstone of modern civilization.

In any case, in order to help your child develop their mathematical aptitudes you can use a ruler or measuring tape to take down the measurements of random objects in your house. Additionally, you can teach them how to count up to a hundred using visual aides.

You should also take the opportunity to introduce them to relativity by comparing large quantities of different objects. For example, you could try and find out what looks bigger between a dozen boats or a hundred cheeseburgers.

Artistic Intuition

Art is one of the many things which sets humans apart from other living creatures, and studying it only serves to increase a person’s intellect, their awareness of details, as well as their ability to appreciate true beauty. You can perform basic art exercises such as collages, finger painting, and perhaps even masks made out of brown paper bags.

The Value of Food

It is important to teach your child to eat properly starting from a young age, especially today when fast food reigns supreme in many countries. You can start by putting together lunches and snacks together with your children, explaining to them why they are eating what they eat.

Language

Needless to say, everything about how a person talks will have a huge impact on their social and professional life, dictating whether or not they will be taken seriously, have the ability to clearly express their thoughts and feelings, and if they will be able to form romantic relationships. You can help to develop your child’s language skills by introducing them to simple poems and very short stories, such as “Humpty Dumpty” or “The Puss in Boots”.

Additionally, in order to train their ability to listen, pay attention and decipher words, you should occasionally try to use nonsensical words which do not exist from time in your sentences.

Expanding the Imagination

Finally, a child needs to maintain an active mind in order to consistently learn, and one of the best ways to do that is to work their imagination. You can expand your child’s creativity by playing imaginary games with them which do not require any equipment.

For example, you could pretend that you are climbing dangerous mountains or that you are blooming flowers. Encourage your children to not only follow your lead but also come up with their own, unique scenarios.

All in all, as you can see, there are numerous ways in which you can interact with your child, entertaining them while simultaneously teaching them some very important skills and principles which will serve them quite well later on in life.

Needless to say, there is a plethora of different pre-school learning techniques out there, so I suggest you take the time to make a complete list of learning techniques to use on your child.
